Re-Handling old Celluoid knives?

Does anybody know anyone who does rehandling of old traditional celluloid knives? I’ve got an old Winchester and several old Bulldogs that I would like rehandled. It would be cool if it was jigged bone or Ironwood but I’m open to other options. Or maybe there’s a video that would teach me how. I have some tools but not a drill press. Or should I just keep them and use them until they explode? I’ve only had a problem with one of them when the steel got corroded on the blades. I managed to save it. Now I keep them in the open air and out of the sun in the dry air of Colorado and they’ve been fine for a long time. I was going to sell them and put a warning in the description but they wouldn’t be worth that much. If they had cool handles I could give them to my kids.

There are several Blade Forum members who do it. Just be aware that rehandling can get expensive and the cost may even (greatly) exceed the value of the knife and at the end of the day, could even diminish the value in some cases, because the knife is no longer original. And often, members who do that sort of rework are often booked and it will take maybe quite some time before they can get to your project. The other factor concerning asking that question here and seeking someone to do it here, is that with your non-paid membership, you have no private messaging privileges in which to communicate with someone concerning their services. All things considered, if knife performance isn't affected, I'd use them until they explode.

I'm just thinking out loud and hope that others with ideas will chime in and perhaps even some of the guys that do that sort of work, if they even have time to run across this post. GOOD LUCK !!!

[ I have a knife I'm going to try and rehandle for the first time, with no experince. I don't have a shop and mostly only hand tools, so I'll work on it in my spare time and no hurry. If I ruin the knife, I ruin the knife, but might learn something along the way ]
