I have some questions regarding re-issued CRK birthcards:

1) I assume CRK is mainly confirming that it is one of their knives?
2) Do they test the hardness again? or do they just give a minimum value?
3) I believe you can narrow down the original birthdate +/- a few months from the codes stamped inside the scales - correct?

Thanks!

1) Pretty much
2) I doubt it
3) Sort of. The codes in the scales tell you when the handle was made. When the knife was actually assembled could be around that same time, or even months later.

On 3, the date codes frequently don't even match. All they tell you is the earliest possible date range for the scales.

The replacement card will have the date the card was issued on it as they have now way of determining the date a knife was produced.
