To all who brought up brandishing a knife, NEVER! threaten, to do so as was said could get you into some serious trouble, I agree, be it a knife, gun, stick whatever. I must say however that I believe that if you get to the place where you think conflict is absolutly unavoiable, and you draw a large knife, gun. stick whatever at the last instance your attacker might give pause as to the attack, thus giving you the chance to"get out dodge" so to say , but then if a fight ensues I would rather have a large knife, gun, stick whatever, me thinks. All of us know this fight stuff is not a good thing, it could alter your life and other's for ever,as could also not fighting, forethought, training are very important, as is mindset. Avoidence for me anyway in any way shape or form if it is possible would be the first and best tack to take. Alway's food for thought and discussion. Be safe, MJ McDowell

It is a rule that you should never pull, remove, show, brandish a weapon unless you have complete and full intention to use it and this is after you have decided that no other recourse is an option! This should protect you should an assailant not be intimidated.
