re-post my MC1's pictures

As one of your friends on there says, don't cut yourself in the bathroom with it ;)

calyth, you can read Chinese charactor, are you a overseas Chinese?
sadly, few like MC1 in bladeforums and Chinese kinfe forums.

lachine, yeah I'm a chinese overseas, and I could read chinese (Traditional is a lot faster for me) I'm from HK, but unfortunately I don't use written chinese much and I've forgotten to write many of them, also I can't type Chinese. But I can sure read them well.
You gotta understand that BFC is much larger and people are into diverse stuff. Not having replies doesn't mean that people aren't interested.
BTW how hard is it for you to get one of these blades?

You can see from my location that it would be comparably easier for me to get the MC1. Afterall I could've just order one from the States and ship it up here.

Welcome! I see you recently joined Bladeforums.

Fallkniven knives are very good knives. The few models I have seen were very nice considering their pricepoints.

Do you have a knife store that orders knives made outside of China? I assume mail order from outside China is not possible due to government regulations and postal theft issues. Is this sort of knife something sailors from overseas bring home?

How do you purchase knives made outside of China?

I have always thought that China was an untapped resource for quality knives. With the language barrier, I have always found it difficult to locate quality knives in China. With all the handmade traditions, it seems natural that China would have a strong tradition of knifemaking.

Do you collect knives other then the military models?

yes,due to government regulations,it's illegal to own a blade, but in reality,if no one indict police ,owning blade is safe.off course, the presupposition is you have not commited a crime. :).in China, there a few blade deputies stealthy import knives from outside, certainly, they are very able,i don't know how they transport knives into China.:).commonly,we can get my knife in 3 weeks.but the price is very high comparative to USAer,because it is hazard for deputy.i have collected China norinco(a Chinese ordnance export company)'s M9,D80,fallkniven MC1,GERBER MK2 2002 limited edition,Timberline aviator, south korea 777 fold knife.i prefer military kinfe.BTW,it's very difficult to get a busse for Chinese due to the scarcity,it's also scarce in USA? whether few USAer own busse?

I own a few Busse knives myself. I would say that compared to your situation in China, getting any knife is relatively easy :)

Very popular Busse models can be a little hard to locate but, I have always found the knife I was looking for. Some of the collector pieces may take some time to locate but, current production knives can be purchased and delivered in anywhere from a few days to a worst case of 2 or 3 weeks. In for sale forums like the ones here, many models can be purchased as soon as you find them and negoiate a price between the seller and buyer.

Since you like military knives, have you ever considered a Chris Reeve One Piece knife? CRK One Piece line These Hollow Handle knives are made from a single piece of A2 steel and are very strong for a hollow handle knife since there is no weak point joining the handle "tube" to a blade. These are very popular knives with some people in the military.

lachine: The MC-1 is a fantastic knife, kongratulations! I have an F-1 myself and would very much like both a WM-1, A-1 and eventually an MC-1 too!

I owned a Mad Dog DSU2 for a while myself which is very similar to the ATAK. The grip is very comfortable and unique. I have not found another knife that offers the same handle construction to the same level of quality. If you can "custom" order a Mad Dog, they can take drawings of your hand and fit the grip to your hand specifically.

In the end however, I traded off the Mad Dog and started acquiring Busse Combat knives. I find the Busse's don't suffer as much hype without fact to back it up and, their construction and blade geometry fit my needs better. The Mad Dogs are more of a fighter style knife while the Busse's are generally more of a hard use survival style knife. Both are quality gear and, which one is best depends on your needs.

As an alternative to the Mad Dogs, you might want to consider RJ Martin's work. His prices in the USA are a little more then Mad Dog but, are certainly within reach of someone who can afford a Mad Dog. RJ Martin @ Robertson Custom Cutlery and Martinsite

Do you have knifemakers in China that make "custom" knives? With a skilled artisan in steel found locally, you could have them make some awesom knives at what I suspect would be a very good price using traditional techniques.

Althrough China have sword and blade culture for several throusand years, there are also many noted knives and blade artisan, but,as you know,it¡¯s illegal for us to own edged blade now due to the government¡¯s worry that edged blade could be used as crime tools. Contrary to you foreigners¡¯ common opinion, there is NO famous Chinese knife and knife factory in present because of administration¡¯s prohibition.L ,we have to buy knife from outside. In China, many people like ¡°wushu¡±(the famous China martial art) which you could seen from many films. You can freely buy exercise sword for ¡°wushu¡±,but this type of sword be made of inferior steel and be of blunt edge, when you grip the sword, you maybe think it a piece of steel plate.off course, there still have many handmake knife artisans who make very excellent knife, you can find them in several Chinese blade forums, they make purely handmake knife for orders too.but it is only maker¡¯s individual hobby, all these are in stealthy condition.
