Re-profiling?

I read that one of the makers on the forum was going to stop re-profiling knives of other makers. Was that you Scott? I have a scrapyard 711 on order and by most accounts the edge is too thick and that would be consistant with the Swamp Rats I've had. So I'm shopping around for some re-profiling work and you were the first guy I thought of. I've owned a couple of your edc sized blades so I know your bevels are kick ass and this is about the size of knife you use yourself so who better? Anyway, the knife won't be here for a few weeks and when it does get here I'm going to use it as is to see if it's workable. Just putting a feeler out. Thanks.

I don't do regrinds but I do reprofile edges to convex. Regrinds would be changing the primary grind. Doing this can cause voided warranties and could come back on me. Edges aren't a problem. I do them all the time.

Ah okay. Sweet. Yep it would be the edge to make it convex and to take the "shoulders" off the transition area from the edge bevel to the primary bevel. I'll keep you in mind. Thanks.

yep, do that all the time. I have a way I do it on the rotary platen with a scotchbrite belt after I reset the edge bevel.
