Re-Purpose fit for Combat

So one of the first knives I made was a tanto heat treated by Lea Oats. Well, I've learned a lot since then and have shanked a few hogs with it but not to my liking. I originally designed it to be a camp/survival knife but the ergos and balance wasn't right, I left way too much steel on it.

So I thought about it and took it back to the grinder and this is what I have come up with. It's fast, VERY fast in the hands. I'm more than pleased with this re-purpose.

I feel like I did a good job on the finish @ 600 hand sand, it has a Wenge handle scales and when you aren't catching a blade in the catch it's great for cracking open an Andigator with the boys.

Hope you like.

"...have shanked a few hogs..." Resume for a knifemaker, all the reference you need. Good looking blade.

1. Is that a left handed sheath? My only concern would be if that is a High Riding Sheath, that the pointed butt might stick you in the ribs? My shoulders were pretty well shot from rucks and injuries, so especially for a large knife I preferred a lower hanging sheath, that for me made accessing and re-sheathing the knife easier. As far as the knife goes, I did not see its original shape, but like the way it looks now. Nice Job! John

I brought the clip even higher. Didn't look quite right.

Yea, That's better, Much better hehe :D

Thanks John! The sheath is designed like a sath sheath. It carries very similar to the one in Joe's "A Bull Whip and Fighter" thread seen here http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1263499-A-Bullwhip-and-a-Fighter

But it attaches to the belt. The loop on the back of the sheath allows it to swivel vertically for concealed carry or easy access during normal carry with it facing more forward. Great for quick cross draw. I made it specifically for hog hunting so quick access and re-sheething is priority in such Chaotic situations as the catch.

It does stick me in the ribs when I conceal under my shirt against bare skin... Other than that, no issues.
