Re Robert Pelton

Yes, it's industry only. You need a pass from a manufacturer or one of the companies with a display.

There are ways around it but I don't know them.

"joe public"

You mean all the people coming to see me? That's a good question. Tell Jeff I am not wearing that damn bikini and high heels he made me wear last year. Last year at SHOT there were dozens of folks who weren't technically dealers or manufacturers or working press. If you know what I mean. ;)

so THAT'S why he asked me to pack that coconut bra. it all makes sense now ;)

I think to get into SHOT you need a "media" badge from the Podunk Daily Fish Wrap or be an "internet knife dealer" But after reading the rules I think that the "• NO loud, abusive, or defamatory language, harassment or other unprofessional or inappropriate behavior" is going to keep Jeff out this year.. ;))

And with all of that, they still wouldn't allow someone who has jumped through the hoops (CCW/CHL) to carry their handgun concealed. Pretty strange really. If the gun industry doesn't even trust permit holders, seems sort of disingenuous for them to be bellyaching about the government not trusting Citizens.

Figures it's at the Sands they don't use IBEW hands to set up for the show. Other wise i could have used my show badge and snuck in.

Not only do they not let you carry a gun I am pretty sure Jeff and my idea of introducing Segway dueling would be looked upon dimly.

maybe they are worried about distraught customers coming for amends? :D

I checked into renting the Segways for this year and told them we wanted to set up some jousting competitions with them. They said HELL NO. Those SHOT show bastards have no sense of humor or fun.

I have heard that they are really strict about the under age rule though. I wanted to take my 12 year old but everyone I have talked to said no way. Not even for exhibitors kids.
