Re-scaling a Slipjoint....

I am going to be picking up a couple vintage slipjoints that have very nice bone scales. However, the blades leave a lot to be desired.
I thought I would like to find someone who can take the bone scales off the old knives and fit them to a different knife. Still looking for an appropriate knife to do this to, but will probably be a Case Jack or Trapper..

Has anyone here had it done, and can you recommend someone that you used in the past and were extremely happy with ?

Don't want to sound like a butt, but I don't deal well with people that are cranky, rude and don't communicate.

Thanks Mike

You may want to contact Bill DeShivs here on BF. Once I have the money, I am going to have him do some scale work. He communicates just fine. From his bio on his web site, he has plenty of experience, and his price quoting is more than reasonable in my book. He was recommended to me by a good source, so I am going to send some knives to him pretty soon.

Ive done it,but it needs to be the same pattern so the pins line up.Also old bone is sometimes fragile and prone to crack.Working with it tends to make one pretty irritable and cranky.
