Re-securing head

What's the best, or at least, most secure, way to tighten the fit of my Rainier Scout's head to the shaft? Due to changes in weather or humidity in my house, the head loosened and slid down the poll when I picked it up yesterday.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Oh, will this be an issue every year? (Humidity and temp control are a bit chancey when the winter rolls in).

Thanks,
Neil

Rough up the hole and the shaft with some sandpaper and Gorilla Glue it. It expands as it dries and is super strong. I did this with the head of my war hammer, and it has never loosened (and I've smashed a lot of sh*t with it). If the shaft ever breaks, use a drill or a dremel tool to get the wood out of the hole and then file (or file and sand) out the remaining GG.

Much appreciated! Looks like a short project for the holiday weekend. :D

Cheers,
Neil

NEIL-
I have an easy, quick fix for you, that worked on my hawks. Just fill the sink with water, and submerge the head for a few minutes. The hawk will soak up any moisture thast it lost. This works a lot better than I thought it would. It is a good fix, without any kind of perminent modification or adjustment.
If you have any problems after trying this quick fix, e-mail me.

Good luck with it!
