Okay, I would like to start a thread that Sal can see what each forumie is thinking about or rather dreamin' about for future Spyderco Knives. I would suggest a format similiar to the following:
*Name - current or/new (make a name).
*Blade Steel - any current steels used or/steel you would like.
*Blade Type - PE, SE, CE, or/drone.
*Handle Type - any current type used or/handle material you would like.
*Clipit Style - traditional, wire or/something new.
*Knife Lock - any current type used or/lock you would like.

I think this would be a great way to debate, discuss, and compare what exactly we are missing out on in our present selections on the market.

Name - Native (Kudzu variant)
Blade Steel - H1
Blade Type - CE
Handle Type - Dark Green G10 or/Titanium
Clipit Style - Traditional
Knife Lock - Ball Bearing or/Lock Back

Name - Salt
Blade Steel - H1
Blade Type - any
Handle Type - Titanium
Clipit Style - Traditional
Knife Lock - Lock Back

Name - Delica
Blade Steel - VG-10 or/H1
Blade Type - any
Handle Type - Aluminum or/G10
Clipit Style - Traditional
Knife Lock - Lock Back

I'll post more ideas later...just want to see what you all are looking for out there too!

ummmm... I'd like to see an "Uber-Military" in Ti-bolsters, frame-lock, OD canvas micarta scales.. Steel? nah, not picky! mebbe S-30V would suffice! :D

Sam

native I PE , grey G10.
calypso jr. , coloured G10 (orange, grey, tan)
dragonfly PE, idem.
navigator pe, g10,

Native: S30V, PE, Black G-10 scales with compression lock (and therefore dual steel liners)

Police: S30V, PE, and SE Black G-10 scales with compression lock

Name - Schempp Persian
Blade Steel - VG-10
Blade Type - PE, same as current, but increase diameter of Spyder hole and add grooves to thumb ramp
Handle Type - jigged bone
Clipit Style - no clip, or ambi tip down deep carry like the FRN Calypso Jr. and Massad Ayoob
Knife Lock - Lock Back

Name - Calypso Jr.
Blade Steel - VG-10
Blade Type - PE, full flat grind like the FRN and Micarta versions, but omit the spine bevel, increase the diameter of the Spyder hole, and add grooves to the thumb ramp
Handle Type - jigged bone and stainless front bolsters over steel liners
Clipit Style - no clip, or ambi tip down deep carry like the FRN version
Knife Lock - Lock Back

and my ultimate "dream" Spyderco, know it will never happen but...

Name - "Baby Horn"
Blade Steel - VG-10
Blade Type - PE, full flat grind like the Micarta AG Russell Specials, omit the spine bevel.
Handle Type - jigged bone and stainless front bolsters over steel liners
Clipit Style - no clip, or C27 style with LH and RH versions.
Knife Lock - Lock Back

Edited to add: PE versions of the 93mm and 79mm Rescue, in FRN with no other changes would be great too!!

So many choices and so little time! Since Sal is going to produce a Navigator II, I won't need to include that model. :D

How about a nice blue anodized titanium handled Cricket with S30v steel and no pocket clip? Ok, ok, a wire pocket clip is ok and I can live with VG10 as well. :D

we can dream cant we. here goes

Name - calypso jr.
Blade Steel - s30v black blade
Blade Type - any
Handle Type - black g10
Clipit Style - traditional/black coated titanium
Knife Lock - Lock Back

Name - chinook 2
Blade Steel - s30v black blade
Blade Type - any
Handle Type - olive drab g10
Clipit Style - Traditional/black coated titanium
Knife Lock - Lock Back

Name - native 3
Blade Steel - s30v black blade
Blade Type - any
Handle Type - black,olive drab,dark green g10
Clipit Style - Traditional/black coated titanium
Knife Lock - Lock Back

Native IV:

S30V blade
Stainless Steel handle with slots cut out to lighten it and improve grip.

I could see the same for the Police and Endura/Delica SS models.

Name - Meerkat
Blade steel - CPM-s30v
Blade type - rev-S, PE
Handle type - Black G-10 (Don't know if that is technically possible because of the 'sliding' scales)
Clip - Brushed titanium
Lock - Phantom Lock

Shiden

G-10 Pro Grip

Think of it as a G-10 Standard with a Pro-Grip blade, or a Pro-Grip with G-10 handles.
Just a matter of assembly I guess since all parts have been made (and should fit I guess)

Ted

I'm with steve Andrews, but a black micarta Native III that was easy to open and a Native III chief would trip my trigger too. :D

Chinook style blade and lock, with a handle and thumb-ramp similar to the Emerson Commander.

Even better, make it a collaberation with Emerson, and put the wave on it as well.

I was thinking almost the same thing! I'd like a Military with steel bolsters and two full thin steel liners. Micarta scales of whatever color would be cool. I'm not picky about the lock or blade steel type. The blade might have to be thicker though to balance out the weight of the handle.

I'd like to see the UK penknife as a spirt run. I think Sal hit the nail right on the head with this one. It might not go over well with the non-knut people. But who cares about them anyway? :D
