Hey all,

Curious if there is anyone around here that can re drill pocket clip screw holes on a manix 2? The knife just rides too low for me and I'd like to correct that by doing so. Also not a huge fan of aftermarket clips that's why I'm looking to see if someone can re tap it so I can use the stock clip and have it ride a bit higher.

Email me at schrohar st hotmail dot com or pm.

Any info appreciated,
Thanks

If someone knows could they also post their answer into this forum please?

Can't you just stick in drill press, mark pocket clip where you want it, and drill and tap as needed? I'm a machinist, but not a Spyderco expert. Is the problem the handle material or what?

The handle is just FRCP (plastic), so I think that the threads would wear out pretty fast.

Wearing out because of unscrewing or screwing in? Changing scales that much? Could put in a heli-coil to cut down on wear on threads if that is a concern.

It's a g10 model and the problem is the hardened steel liners, and I don't have a drill press lol but I've been told there are special tools needed to get through the steel.

You can do it.

You need the center punch your drill points.
Use quality drill bits.

Or contact CharlieMike.
