Reached my climax on EDC blades…

Since I’m only packing a measly M9 over here, I figured I would toy with a few more blades. Actually other than the bottom three (Seatbelt cutter, Benchmade SOCP dagger and the Leatherman Crunch are carried on my IOTV when I’m traveling outside wire), the others are very “wearable”. I did some traveling last week, and had no issues. The KaBar small TDI has proven to be a great little blade. I wear it just behind my belt buckle and the handle rides just above my crotch…sounds weird, but it’s easy to access when in odd positions and when seated. My PATAK is back from Mad Dog and he really took care of me with the replacement sheath plus an additional drop-belt sheath and a sheath for my IOTV (need to hook that up); he also inlcuded a nice sharpening stone and several small tubes of his proprietary weapon's lubrication...first class in my book

Just thought you would like to see what a deployed knife-aholic carries around…:D

Mad Dog Pygmy ATAK
ESEE Izula (carried in a MercHarness)
KaBar small TDI in a Kydex sheath
Emerson CQC-10
Spyderco Military
Victorinox Spirit Multitool
Leatherman PS4
Executive Edge Grande
Gerber Artifact razor blade
Titanium ID tag-sized blade
Benchmade Seatbelt cutter (on IOTV)
Benchmade SOCP dagger (on IOTV)
Leatherman Crunch (on IOTV)

It’s been an evolution and I’ve found a pretty comfortable EDC for what I do and what I can get away with albeit a tad "excessive" it at least is comforting:D. Here’ the latest of my EDC package:

The SOCP rides along the belt, horizontally, really well. I carry mine there, ring right at 11:30 or so, with the tip to the rear. Easy access with either hand.

Great EDC gear! My prayers go with you, ROCK! Be glad when you're back safely on this side of the "pond", Brother!

Best Regards,
Ron

Let us know when you get back. I need a reason to go to Georgia.

Rock,

Thanks for keeping us safe, and would count it an honor if you would pass along our humbled thanks to those serving with you. Great set up btw, and I know you saw this coming, but if you had to pick only one EDC blade or multitool..we gotta' know what it would be... Please tell us. Also, please give names/descrips for the contents in the bottom pick. Curious about the gloves and small pouch especially. Thanks again.

I’m out of room on the belt. It’s a handy little, purpose made defensive knife…I’m warming up to it, but for now it’s a standard addition to my IOTV:thumbup:

Thanks Ron, this vacation will be ending in a couple of months…it’s actually a break from my stateside job:D

I was hoping to make it back the first weekend in June so I could attend the Blade Show this year, but I may be delayed a week and miss it…

I was afraid somebody was going to ask! For what I’m currently doing, the Vic Spirit multitool would probably be my number one pick…fortunately, I don’t have to make that choice:D

Bottom picture consists of:

CAT (combat application tourniquet)
My Recon Wrap (thin poly neck gaiter...a must have when flying!)
Cravat/bandana and a couple of safety pins inside
The small pouch holds my clear lenses for my Oakley sunglasses…necessary for night traveling
Cammenga tritium wrist compass
Eye drops/wash (very handy when unexpectedly caught in a sand/dirt from rotary wash
Gloves are just standard Mechanix gloves in “coyote” brown…necessary to match my multicam OCP’s!

Its great to see your post ROCK6. Stay safe!
Thanks! We’ll be heading to your neck of the woods when I get back (mid June to early July) to visit the family.

i was afraid to click on this thread given the title...that tdi needs to be replaced with a candiru given where it's carried :p

No way! That TDI is a multipurpose cutting tool AND provides a little crotch protection:D

Very nice carry stuff my friend, stay safe.

and you said it was excessive?

its not

I am a college student in a relativly safe college campus and I am carrying:
2 knives,
a multitool
a flashlight
a kubotan (with my keys....turns it into a vicious flail type weapon, it needs to be replaced though)
a zippo on the belt (whenever i get home and pick it up)

and soon to be added (when I, the broke ass college student, gets enough money)
a tactical pen or two (maybe hinderer)
a Fred Perrin self defense bracelet

and if my campus would allow it
a fixed blade on my waist
a 1911 and a snubby .357 tucked away

so ya....what your carrying isn't excessive for where you are...what I carry/would carry might be excessive for where I am, and if anyone asked me what I was afraid of my answer would be not a damn thing.

so ya, your's is definitely not excessive

by the way, in your first picture, you have a narrow blade with a handle that looks like a pen right above the small leatherman, what is that?

It is really making me curious

Yeah, well non-knife enthusiasts consider anything more than a multitool or SAK as excessive :D

The "pen knife" is the Executive Edge Grande. They still make them and it's a decent little design that fold up an resembles a pen.
