The rules and guidelines for the site are featured in the FAQ's folks , so read them before posting (second link in the bar above). There is information on paying subscriptions, images, for sale conduct, and more there.

I've also put a bunch of common technical support questions into the FAQ, so read them before you post a question here.

If it's not in the FAQ, I'll do my best to answer it here, then add it there.

Thanks for your cooperation.

1)How do wrap quotes around selected text from other postings that I would like to make comments on? 2) How does one start a new thread? 3) how do I edit my posts so that it doesn't post as one hard to read paragraph? I would like to learn how to break a post into readable paragraphs like others do. Be patient with me as I am very new to computers, and man are these things complicated to use! Thanks Bufford.

When you say the rules and guidelines for the site are in the FAQ's , is that second link in the bar you are refering to called the 'search this thread' tab? When I type in words to search such as 'posting' nothing comes up. Once I finally learn how to properly navigate this site I may upgrade my membership to support it and to post pictures. Oh boy photographs that will be a challenge, first I will have to figure out to use that thing, they are not like the good old 35 mm film cameras when life was still simple. Thanks Bufford.:jerkit:

For quotes you hit the "Quote" button in the post of the person you wanna quote. It hsould be in the lower right hand corner of said post.

To start a thread you go to the forum in which you would like to start a thread. Then you look around for the "button" that says new thread. And then type away.:)

Welcome to Bladeforums!

1) Click the Quote button at the bottom of the post you want to quote. That will start a reply with the entire post quoted. You can delete portions you don't need to quote same as you would edit your own post.

2) Click the New Thread button at the upper left of the forum page.

3) Hit the Enter key on your keyboard twice to start a new paragraph.

Look at the narrower bar above that one. The first link says "User CP." The second link says "FAQ." (FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Questions.)

The search function is a little quirky, but it works if you coddle it. It overloads if you give it a keyword that's too common. Please read Sticky: Search Engine FAQs & Tips

The best advice I can give to anyone who is new to computers is don't be afraid to try things! You can make test posts here in Service & Support, try out the different features, screw everything up and make a complete mess of it -- no one will mind! We'll help!

Testing the quotation functions here so lets see.

Thanks for the big help everyone, I'm learning (slowly) about this new technology. Its amazing how things have come along since the days of vaccuum tubes and B/W TV.

I tried to start a new thread but maybe there is a problem with how the page loads up on my machine but I just cannot find the 'New Thread Button'.
I need more help with this one.

So I will just start a new thread here and Bladeforums moving van services will have to make a move for me at least for today. Am having problems editing and etc,and no time, must go. Enjoy the read below folks, gotta go now!

NEW THREAD: Titled Man kills Black Bear with his knife.
Yesterday on July 24th a man with his dog was confronted by a 185 pound black bear while portaging his canoe near Wawa Ontario. The bear lunged for the dog and grabbed it by the back in an effort to kill the dog by breaking its back. While the bear was distracted by its attack on the dog, the man came around to the bear from behind and started stabbing and cutting into the bear's neck until it he could feel it weaken and let go of the dog. Apparently from his account the bear was dead in less than two minutes, his dog survived the attack and the man only had minor injuries. Things would have turned out badly if he hadn't carried his knife on his belt.:jerkit:

The ministry of natural resources came to measure and weigh the bear. It was 185 pounds, not huge but definitely a killer. On the radio interview the man said it all happened so fast, and he did not want to let his dog die like that. He went on to say that he was surprised how easy it was for the knife to penetrate and cut into the bear's neck. He did this while using his other hand to hold the bear while he cut. He said he could feel the bear weaken almost from the very first cut and slash action he made into the neck of the beast. :D

After the attack he was scraped up from the battle looking alittle ragged and managed to canoe across a lake to a cabin where a couple of fishermen took him back to the hospital for first aid and a few stitches.

I believe the message is clear here. When you go out in the forest be prepared for anything, carry your knife on your belt not deep in the bags somewhere.

I just cannot find the 'New Thread Button'.

Click on the first attachment to see a screen capture of the top left portion of the forum page. The New Thread button is on the left near the bottom.

The second attachment is just the button.

Thanks Courgar! I figured this new thread function out. What I was doing wrong was to try to find the new thread button while being within an existing thread. Now I think I know what to do. Thanks again for your patience.;)

Now I think I have figured out how to start a new thread.
1)To start a new thread click on Forum Jump.
2)Choose any forum and click Go
3)Look at the page and the New Thread button will apear on the top left of the page. Note: Do not ever ever enter into the thread or the New Thread button is Gone!!
4)Click on New thread and type away.:)
