read the instructions!!

I think I must have a problem reading instructions. This blade is "supposed" to be flat gray so you can guess how surprised I was when it came out of the oven a nice, shiny gold color.

In my excitement to try out the new quart of gun-kote I got in, I somehow completely managed to skip over the part in the instructions that said "shake for 2 minutes." :D

What, am I the only one that finds this humorous?? :D

Well, I redid it last night and it turned out fine. Now I wonder about marking -- a deep etch before applying maybe?

I have also had a "color" problem once...
I took a blade to the oven for tempering and instead of turning out pale yellow, it was blue when I removed it from there - and so soft you could tie a knot with it... :rolleyes:
