I bought this book 11 years ago. It is the reason I started making knives because it had a chapter on making a coal burning forge out of a brake drum along with basic blacksmithing information. I've been trying to find information on scrimshaw and tried invain online. I happend to look at it while sitting on the throne and there was all the information I needed on scrim. Not sure if its still in print but most likly is. If you happen to find it its well worth the price.....

Hi Ray, funny you should mention that book. I was telling my neighbor I want to learn blacksmithing/forging. A couple weeks ago I go visit and he gives me the book, tells me he found it while cleaning out a shed for a friend, and since he already has a copy gives it to me. You are right, it's a very interesting book, with all kinds of practical information.
