I would like to ask you guys what you would suggest as reading material (books, websites, etc.) for Japanese martial arts swords. I'm not a martial artist but as soon as people know that I forge blades they ask me if I could make them a "Ninja Sword."
I'm more interested in the shorter blades of pre-Meiji Japan but would like to find a general source of information.

Thanks in advance,

Joe

If someone asks you for a "ninja sword" you need to get one of those books that Mr. Stein recommends... and smack them in the head with it... ;)

Hey Rich, thanks for the link but it doesn't seem to be working.

I definitely agree that some of these people need to be smacked about the cranium but maybe not just because they asked for a sword. :D

Thanks,

Joe

LOL. Yes I suspect wanting to be a ninja is just a symptom. Of course it's perfectly reasonable to want to be a 13th century knight... :)

Is it perfectly reasonable in this day and age to want to be a pagan raider swinging a broadsword???

I hope so. I do so hate being unreasonable.
