This is what I've been up to the last couple months. Got the framing done today so now I need to figure the amount of steel siding to order. That will take a few days once they get my order so it looks like its time for more shovel work on the inside. My intent is to have a flat level dirt floor. Looks like I'll need at least 3 yards to bring it up to level. This is going to make a big improvement over my little shop. I'll be gaining about 600 sq ft of floor space.

Ray,your makin' me feel bad.I am planning on adding a 20X10 forging "patio" onto my shop.Your's looks like a real nice job.

Looks good, it's great to get more room aint it? :D I just recently converted an old block dairy parlor to a shop and now got to figure out how to fill it up!

Ray, make sure ya have loads of venilation. Ya can't believe how much those steel buildings sweat.
Insulated, uninsulated, doesn't make a difference.
They sweat! bruce

Bruce, there will be a 2' strip open on the front and back of the shop plus the truss on the inside wall. I'm not planning on insulation.

Ray, that otta give ya plenty of air circulation.
You thinking about a ceiling fan too?
If I had it to do over, I'd most likely go with wood siding due to the temperature changes and humidity here in w Pa. It got so bad here this summer, I could squeegee water off metal cabinets in the early morning:) Horrible!! bruce

All I can do is look and sigh.........................:(. I cant wait to get the heck outta the city. One day.

Ray: That looks bigger than my house.  :D Looking good Bro. Hey!!! The next time you come to visit me, you can build me one. :D :D :D

Don't have the humidity here. I was thinking about setting a box fan up high to move the air but we normally have a breeze most the time. Don't think summer will be any problem but I'm more concerned with the cold damp winters. Was thinking about going with plywood but the price helped me make the decission plus the steel is pre painted and should look good for a long time. I hate doing matenence.

IG, Believe this is the last shop I plan on making. This has taken more time than what I planned but it will be worth it.

Ray: If you are like the rest of us that sucker will be filled with new toys and junk before you know it. :D

IG, Your so right on. I got a 10" table saw and a 10" radial arm saw that our burried in the garage. Not to mention the 6" belt sander and wood bandsaw that are burried in the old shop. My old shop is the green part in the picture. I plan on making stairs from the old to the new so I can use them both. I'm really wanting to make something that works this time and not just throw everything together in a big rush because I want to make knives like with the first one although I've just about used up my patients.
