Real 1918 LFC WWI trench knife, or knock off?

I'm NOT posting to ask the value, I've read the rules.

I received this from a friend as payment for an old debt.

Don't know much about knives, I was just wondering if anyone has info on how to tell if its legit or a cheap knock off...

Been looking around on the internet but just finding misleading info.

What markings/shape would the real one have that a fake wouldn't or vice versa.

Any and all help is appreciated...

Also has a metal sheath with LF&C on it...

Thanks fellas. I figured I wouldn't get anywhere without pictures... my phone takes lame ones. I'll snap a few withe trusty Nikon and get them up ASAP.
