I haven't been on the forum in some time. Hope everyone is doing OK. I'm not sure if this is in right place to post my question if not mods I apologize. I was told one man can answer this question on here and that's Mike Stewart.
I have 2 black jack knives. One is the mod # 1-7 made in Effingham, IL. Stacked leather handle and no hole in pommel. It's mint and I'm in love with it. But the other I'm questioning. Its a mod 7 ,black greenish mircita handle, just says Black Jack classic knives and its centered almost on the grind. Back just says A2 STEEL made IN USA. It's in a Bark River sheath but even the marking on back of sheath is real sloppy looking. Shouldn't " Bark River" be on the knife? Just says A2 STEEL MADE IN USA. I heard fakes came out after the Effingham shop closed. Not sure how to up load pictures but there is a big big difference in this knife and the Effingham made one. Thanks for any help.

Like I said, not sure how to upload pictures or I would have . I don't know why I can't go to gallery on my phone and upload

You need a pic hosting site. Imgur is good and free. Upload your pics there, then select your pic and copy and paste that link here.

Need a pic, but I wouldn't discount the knife being real. The no hole Effingham is a relatively early knife 91-93 or so.

"Black Jack classic knives and its centered almost on the grind. Back just says A2 STEEL made IN USA." - this is consistent with know Blackjack stamps. The Blackjack stamp with another Bark River stamp on the other side is a newer stamp.

Blackjack had / has a lot of variations on stamps and sadly, a lot of variation on fit and finish even on legitimate knives over the years, so you really need a picture.
