Which of the current Busse Combat knives would be best suited for combat use only? I'm looking for something similar to a Strider? Or should I buy a Strider?

Corbon, If your looking for a fighter and if they are
still available. Take a look at the Mr. Mojo.

Corbon,

Hehe, I am on a roll tonight with posting. In answer to your question, I don't think that any of Jerry's knives are suited for combat only. That's the beauty, they are such utilitarian blades with a rock solid warranty and unbeatable performance. (see what Cliff has to say about the different steels, I think it is applicable http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=188200) In terms of a fighter there is the Pure Bred Fighter series (the Killer-B being the only one available from the factory). The Satin Jack might also fit the bill. But I wouldn't use any of them as "combat only" and that's why I like them so much. Happy knife hunting.

The best way to sum it up is to say that most if not ALL of Jerry's blades are suitable for absolutely ANY harsh and demanding environments. If you consider their rock solid construction, the best gaurantee around, and unbeatable performance, you'll see why Busse is on the forefront of combat bladeware:D
So with that in mind, for all around combat utility use, check out the Natural Outlaw or Steel Heart. If you favor a narrower profiled blade with less weight around the belly the Satin Jack may be your gem.

When you say "Combat use only" that typically means a wide number of uses. As much as we would like to think that means "fighting", fact of the matter is most military (combat) use is relegated to opening cans, chopping wood or cutting rope, etc., etc. Actual fighting is a real minority but you want a knife that is prepared to do battle as well.

My favorites for such purposes are: Battle Mistress, Steel Heart, Mr. Mojo and Badger Attack. Depending upon your desire for stealth, I have ordered them with the largest first (the BM) and the smallest last.

Hope that helps!

Corbon,
There are some great recommendations given here. If you could be more specific about your intended uses, we would gladly narrow the suggestions to a few blades.

If you want a true fighter look at the Killer B or the Mr. MOJO.

If you want a great general utility knife, any will do, however the Satin Jack and the Natural Outlaw come to mind.

If you want a big chopper the Steel Heart or Battle Mistress, should be sufficient ;):D

Any of them can be used, abused and still want more. To be completely honest, I'm sure I can't push my blade to its limits. I'm not physically capable ;):). These things are truly indestructible. ;):D

I hope this helps.
Good Luck choosing.

Corbon:

I think the many of Busse's knives would fit the bill, but especially the Mr. Mojo out of the regular line.

Also, always remember that Busse's custom shop can most likely make you anything your heart desires, just send contender an email and he's always more than happy to help out.

Thanks guys, I didn't realize that the word "combat" had so many different meanings. I meant a "true fighter" like Eric I. said. I'll probably end up getting the Pure Bred Fighter or Satin Jack. The other knives are nice, but they aren't for me.
