Hey, I saw this Spyderco in a store today and I have never seen it before. Was just wondering if it was real and what model it was. Also what the vaule is. It was in a legit store and in the case next to other common spydercos. Any info is welcomed. Thanks

Got it, Thanks for the quick reply. Never seen this one before. Is it disc. and if so for how long? Rare? Thanks

Mike

Discontinued for four or five years. As with most older Spydercos, the Scorpious has it's fans, but it's not rare and not particularly sought after by collectors even though, IIRC, it was Eric's first design that made it to production.

always did think it's handle silhouettes a duck's head.
much too strange a bird to take an instant liking to;
almost as if like its been made up from two very different parts.

Eric does seem to like the idea of incorporating a yawara stick type compliance tool into the handle of his designs. It's most pronounced on the Scorpius, but the Dodo and Poliwog also have it.

yes the yawara beak i would think, is very much in line with the MBC concept.
thank g'wad that there were no such repeated "franken-looks" prevalent with either the dodo or poliwog; both which i might add were spectacular design achievements of the day and very excellently executed for their intended purpose.

that is a spyderco scorpious very nice knife and you got a plain edge version witch is sweet.

ah, the good ol scorpious, its a great knife and the one in the pic is in very good cond., i would snatch that up:thumbup:

The Scorpius has great ergos- I'm just not a fan of slick stainless handles.
