Hey, I was just wondering if the knife pictured on the Bladeforums.com logo is a real knife? If so, do you know what it is?

It is not, it's just a drawing, though they probably got their inspiration from the microtech UDT.

Just a thought, but...

Has BladeForums ever commissioned it's own knife?

Yes, among others, a run of customized REKAT Sifu megafolders with a single finger groove.

An image of one of these was the Bladeforums logo for awhile.

There have been a few Subforum BFC knives, Practical Tactical had some IIRC and I know the Traditional Subforum has had a few for sure, I'm waiting for the 2008 knife to be made.

Wilderness/Survival did two last year, one by Nick Allen (the one I got) and I can't remember the other. Very nice knife, once I put the kid to bed in an hour I'll try and post a pic. Was one of those "why don't we do a...." which over a couple of months turned into two seperate designs (of course we couldn't all agree on one), contacting the maker, making the list of who wanted what, etc. The entire thing was pretty cool in my opinion, and I got a very nice somewhat unique knife out of it.

Nick just had an nice article done on him on either Tactical Knives or Blade, can't remember which. Showed several of his knives, all have the nice hamon (sp?) line on them.
