Hi guys,

I was just buying this Sword.

http://www.monalbum.fr/Album=OMAQXCQC

It measures 106cm at all, 77,5 for the Saya and 28 for the tsuka.
The blade measures 73cm.
At each end, it measures 3,5 cm of large and near of the tsuba, 4cm.
The tsuba, who is moving, measures 8/8,5cm of diameter.
The back of the blade measures 1cm of large at its base and 0,4cm at the tip.
It's heavy (my decoration's sword are very light near it).
It have only one Mekugi.
The "lace" of the tsuba seems to be in leather.
As i don't know about sword, i have not dismantled it.

What do you think to this sword?

Thanks for your answer and sorry for my bad english.

I've never seen fittings anything like those before on a nihonto. In itself, this doesn't mean that it's fake, since it's possible (however unlikely) that they could have been added to a real blade. The shape of the blade is very sloppy, and the polish is also very bad. Both of these are indicative of a fake sword — even if it was real, the state it's in would make it completely worthless (but it's not real). There appears to be a pattern in the blade that I can't see clearly in your photos. From what I can see, though, it doesn't look like the kind of pattern you'd see in a nihonto. It looks like fake damascus to me. It's also worth mentioning that (1) there's no seppa between the tsuba and the habaki and (2) there appears to be a gap there. Again, this could, under other circumstances, just be a goofy mounting job but it's worth pointing out.
The fittings are pretty cool, though, so if you didn't spend too much money on it it'd make a nice wall hanger.

One more thing (you'd think there'd be a sticky about this): If you want to buy a real nihonto, either buy one from a reputable dealer of such things or educate yourself before hand so you know what you're looking for. Nearly every day someone posts pictures here of a sword they bought asking if it's real — it never is. If you have to ask, assume the answer is "no."

Mounting is not japanese what so ever. Cheap alloy cast fittings, terrible quality ito and even more terrible ito-maki.
The fact there NO seppa, the blade's polish. Blade shape and proportions tell me to walk away and don't look back.

Nothing about the sword is worth anything, the blade itself looks fake.

..no to mention the loose damascus "style" blade. I can't believe how big the koiguchi is.

Hole smokes just took at look at the koiguchi. I stopped looking at the blade once I got past the overall shot/pictures of fittings.
