I received my Real Steel Huginn Ultra that came with a 3.6 inch DLC coated S 35VN blade. The price before tax was $99. The original version is identical in size and comes with VG 10 steel and a PVD coated blade. Same price for right now. I have both versions.
The design is from Ivan D Braginets. The scales are contoured G 10. And the blade is a high flat grind with a drop point profile. The action is good with thumb stud and crossbar lock deployment. The factory edge is razor sharp. And it feels good in hand. No blade play or hotspots. The pocket clip is tail, mounted, and reversible deep carry.
The jimping on the blade and handle spine feels excellent. It has full steel liners, and I believe runs on bearings. It’s best to application is just light to medium duty every day carry. I’m not sure I would use this on a camping trip. For that Real Steel makes a better model called the Pathfinder. I’m attaching some pictures using my custom Benchmade mini crooked river for size comparison. All in all I’m very happy with a knife and think it’s a great value.
