Real Tactical tomahawk reviews?

So, I like tactical hawks. I have a few. Not the nice expensive ones. No budget for them. But the BUDGET style: SOG CS Condor, and Estwing kinds.
I am a reasonable guy who will not expect these to compare with the big boys, but figure in theory, they should be able to do things like whack through doors and windows, and maybe a little can openering on a car hood in an emergency. I don't have those things hanging around to try that myself.

Sooo, I go to my local web to see tests. What do I find? Clhopping twigs and 2x4s and small chunks of cinder block. Really? Yard work to show tactical ability? Then the summaries: chops ok, but not great for wood splitting. Really??? Ya think? Anybody who has used a $5 camp hatchet can figure that one out! Broke cinder! Ok, how about a car window and a house door? I don' see many situations in life where a cinder crumb being life of death deal breaker!

Does anyone anyone do real tests with this stuff on the web, or here? Or am I destined to buy doors, goods, and door jambs with hung house doors to find out if these things work for what they were designed?

I've not recorded my SOG in use, but I've used it for some of the stuff you're talking about. I've put it trough a few door locks with relative ease, put it through a washing machine in the doubled and tripled up places, and an old car hood and doors. I haven't chopped through a door, because most of that steel was scrapped shortly after. I can't attest as to how much abuse it'll take, but mine's held up well. I busted through the glass on the old car door as well, and it seemed to do well.

Well I've used my helm forge aka StormCrow 18 in wrecker to bust chan and locks, bust foot thick ice, took out two or 3 door jams with ease. It has stood up to anything I can throw at it. Plus James' prices are much better than the winkler a and RMJs, which both make great products too. But I just placed an order with James to buy a 15 incher he is making now. Give him a shout and he will set you up right. Best full tang hawk on the market in my opinion. Blade magazine just did a write up in the new issue.
