Real vs. counterfeit

I just a bought a new Buck Folding Omni Hunter™ 12PT at a gun and knife show today as a gift for my son-in-law who loves hunting and Buck knives.
My son examined the knife and thinks that it might be a counterfeit, so I am wondering if anyone here knows how to tell the difference?
For example, after looking at the same knife on the Buck website tonight, the "B U C K" letters on the blade seem too far apart from each other and the "U S A" under the Buck letters does not have the periods behind each letter...
I'm concerned that if it's a fake then the materials may be inferior and not last as well as the real thing.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I just found one on ebay that looks identical to the one I bought today at the gun show:

The one on Buck's website looks slightly different:

Beside the letters I mentioned earlier, the gut hooks are slightly different, and the rivet(?) that connects the blade to the handle is different...
Is this normal to have slight differences like this in a knife model??

:cool:...The "knife store" wouldn't sell copies...Check 'em out in GB&U if you have any doubts...:)

You can trust that seller on ebay; he absolutely is not going to be selling any counterfeit Bucks, so if yours is the same as that one, I think you are in good shape.

Edit: DarryS: my life story, a day late and a dollar short, in this case one minute later than you!!
 
Thanks Darryl and Sue for the votes of confidence about the knifestore on ebay - I feel better now about my purchase at the gun show...
