i live in southern WV and its only a two hour drive down to New Graham knives. i plan on driving down there and handling one since everybody says that is the only way to appreciate one. i have a few questions though

1. how easy is it to sharpen S30v?

2. how well do they perform campsite task such as food prep or fire starting?

3.finally should i get the small or large?

I have the large classic in s30v. I sharpen it on a fine ceramic crock stick, and then strop with leather. I have encountered no difficulties with getting my sebbie sharp, or keeping it that way.
The sebenza is a great slicer, and really robust. I have used it on fatwood and kitchen duty, sharpening pencils and opening mail. So far it truely excels in every way.
I like the large, but if you read through a few threads on CRK's, you'll find the owners of the small really enjoy them.
I don't think you can go wrong with either:thumbup: :D

Cool New Graham is around two hours away for me too! I really need to go with a wad of cash. But if I order online No sales tax= good. Maybe I'll just order it when I get the paper to do so.

Michael Dye of New Graham is a fantastic guy to deal with. He loves Sebenza's too! I've gotten a few from him in the past. Hands down the Sebenza will be the one folder you buy that will last above all others. Sebenza meaning "Work" in Zulu, does just what it means...work!

Very easy to sharpen.

Small works well in most cases. I carry the small weekdays (very comfortable), large on weekends (camping etc.)

Use the heck outta of 'em all.... cutting strap, cord, rubber, cable etc....Really use then HARD.

Micartas hard to beat.

lol, maybe i'll drive down there find the one i like then go home and order it online...

i really like the look of the micarta inlay, does the sebenzacome in S30v only? i thought that i saw one in BG-42. could be totally mistaken though.

For me, the small Sebbie is perfect for EDC, for me!! You can find older Sebbies with BG-42.

I think it used to come in BG-42. AFAIK, they don't come in anything other than S30V these days.

Wish I was close enough to New Graham to drive. I've bought my share of sharp things from them in the past. Good people. Good service too.

I have a large reg. Sebenza in BG42 and a small classic Sebenza in S30V. They also came out in ATS34 originally. I prefer my small classic over the large reg. and I have large hands. This model will do just about anything I need a knife for.

As has been said, they did use BG 42 at one point but no longer. s30v is the only option.

I live in Charleston, if you want we may be able to meet some time and you can see one in person. Send me an email if you'd like.

I had a small regualr and sold it feeling it was two small. What i learned was :
1) dont sell your sebenza you will regert it
2) once you buy one you will want another,

The next one i get will be a large classic.
