Really cool handle material.

The handle on this piece is made from prickly pear cactus skeleton impregnated with resin. It can be buffed to a mirror finish, but I ain't that kind a girl.....:p

I sanded it to 320 grit, then 0000steel wool, and finally finished it with 2 coats of super glue with 0000 steel wool between coats.

It is on a piece of Alabama Damascus. My new EDC.....

i had ordered some of this stuff in midnight black,red and copper havent received it yet,but it wasnt from this site, very nice knife
 
This is the manufacturer. He has one retailer (Ankrom Exotics) that went to Blade this year. That is where I picked up these scales.
 
Very nice! I did not think they would be that expensive. The sticker kinda surprised me. Still pretty sweet!
 
Have to go to the neighbors yard and hack off a few pieces of Cactus.
Seriously the stuff grows wild here, just curious as to how they do it?
