If you get the Outdoor Channel, check out "The Best Defense: Survival". These guys take a real common sense approach to survival. I happened across it last night for the first time and they were showing some urban survival techniques.
Their info made plenty of sense and was very useful. If you get a chance to catch it, you should. You'll enjoy it and it's twice the program that Man vs. Wild, and even Dual Survival is.
One of the presenters is even an employee of Spyderco!

Here's a link to their site: http://www.downrange.tv/blog/new-season-of-best-defense-survival/4268/

I hope they keep it up.

I just watched the food storage episode.Good common sence advice.

I record everything educational with my DVR and then scan through to see if it's worth watching or if I've see it already.Real time saver.

Hmm. Never heard of it. Thanks for telling us, I will look out for it

I didn't hear of it until I channel surfed onto it. I hope the future episodes are as good as the one last night.

I learned something last night that never even crossed my mind. Twisting multistrand copper wire together to make a snare. For some reason that never occured to me, and when I saw it I nonconciously smacked myself in the forehead and went: "Duh! I can't believe I'd never even considered that!"

My wife just stared in shock.

It just goes to show that you can always -- ALWAYS -- learn something from somebody else. You never know everything there is to know about this stuff.

Seen some and it is good. Janich is the man. Got some of his books. I like that it gives you situations that honsetly more people are probably going to encounter.
