Hey guys, a few weeks back one of you posted a pic of a really sweet karda. About 5" blade, looked like it was a well built belt knife. Ive been thinking about one or two (eventually a 2nd).

Two is one and one is none philosophy. I have a really great 4.5 belt knife, but it needs a backup. Plus im planning ahead fot my nephew and yours looked like it would be a great primary knife. With a nice villager for bigger tasks = a tight backpacking/trunk emergency kit.

Can you post the pic again and how you got it.....was it a special order? Etc....of course anyone else with a solid, 4-6" karda would be great too.

I picked mine up on a dotd and they will come around again without doubt as they are very popular--I have no pictures right now except maybe of my YCS karda with a BDC

Are you are talkng about a picture I think I saw recently of a large karda with beautifully carved wood? I think that was one of the large Kardas from one of those really intricate carved YCS sets. Can't remember who posted it, but it sure was incredible looking.

Here's my Kumar Karda I posted in the Rajkumar fund drive thread? I seem to remember someone asking about it?

Dang Gehazi that YCS Karda is larger than I thought they were! Beautiful!

oooh The KKs. Yes they are a great knife. Love mine, though it is a much more rustic look than that pretty shiny one of Ndogs, I need to get some polish and some wood maintenence done on mine. I feel like such a slacker.

Yeah, I believe thats it. I want one of those. Was it a special order or do they come through now and again? I wonder if I can just email auntie? Thanks for the help, it will be alot easier to copy the link than try and describe it. Kumar....everything you guys posted of his was spectacular.

kumar kardas are actually a fairly common offering-- there were several runs in the past 6 months -- of some even super sized 14 inchers, but mostly they hover around 9 inches

The ones that recently came through, were Vim kami made Kumar Kardas.

I just got word that some should be arriving in the next few weeks and to check back with them.......of course David could always donate to the cause.......

The Kumar Karda is actually listed at the HI store, under "Special Items".

Kumar Karda
10 inches and 4 oz. weight. One of our most popular offerings.
This little puuko style knife is both beautiful and functional.

Ps Dave, you'd have to come over every time to help me pick up that 38oz beast. Those karda are nice, interesting elbow shape.

I got one of these some time ago. The handle is not just decorative, it is comfortable and a great grip.

Worked really well in the kitchen, even as thick as the blade is. The patina was practically black in no time. :D

To me looking cool is job one. Been a curse all my life. I'd rather sit in a pretty vette with no engine on the side of the road than drive a Prius with a perfect running engine.

And that KK is high up in the looking cool department. I held one and I agree it's beautiful to look but also make a really good grip.

The Kumar Karda is a great camp/picnic/kitchen knife. The carving makes for a wonderful grip.
I have one, my wife has one, several of my friends now have one...
