I have a Crewman BK10, I would like to know how this knife compare to a swamp rat, I saw a lot of pics of hard used swamp rats and I would like to know if the crewman is good enough for the normal things that you need to do in a forest, mountain survive situation.

If you have pics of yours BK´s using it, it would be great.

Thank you for your info.

try looking at cliff stamps web site , i think it has exactly what youre looking for . he actually has at least a few diferent reviews on various beckers. btw way ive got a bk7 and havent had any duribility issues with it and have beat the crap out of it , beckers a good knife for the money and better than some that cost lots more. the reviews in cliffs web site sum it up very well.

I've got a BK10 and beat the crap out of it. It hasn't even broken a sweat yet.... For 'normal' mountain/forest 'survival' activities, it's more than enough.

If you can break this knife, you should have been using a crowbar....

It's really tough to compare Swamp Rats (which are really mid-tech blades) to BK&T. I've owned a Brute for a couple of weeks now and it has plesed me more than I thought it would. I admit, I re-profiled the edge and tip 'a bit', but even out of box, it just felt right. For the price you pay for a BK&T, I don't think you could do any better. I would have paid a lot more for the Brute, had need be.

I have really been hard on both my CU-7 and BK 9. Really hard. They have stood up perfectly. So, to answer your question, for all the usual things in the woods, I think they are probably the best bang for the buck out there. Period.

Yes, they really stand up to hard use. I love the way the steel takes and keeps an edge.
