Really Important Question... I'm dying to know the answer, I'm sure you are too

Mr Snody,

Just watched the video you posted talking about custom knives versus production knives. I really liked the analogy you made with respect to music. Anyone can learn to play an instrument, but only some people can put the emotion into it. As a french horn player that really rings true to me. I'd like to think I put some emotion into my music even though I don't have great technical skill. When you meet a musician who can do both that is a sight to be seen. It's clear from the knives you put out that you've got both amazing skill and lots of heart going into those blades. Alas I have not yet been fortunate enough to own one of your knives, but I hope to in the future.

Now for the important question:

What is your favorite smoke, and what is your everyday smoke?

"A woman is only a woman, but a good cigar is a smoke. "
Rudyard Kipling

I'm a fan of CAO Mx2. These days I smoke Don Thomas ascots. It's just too cold to enjoy a smoke past 15-20 minutes.

Unfortunately I don't smoke many Cubans, I just don't know where to start, and the few that I have had weren't great.

thats a Q i got as a non cigar smoker,
where to start ?
and how long does it take to smoke one ?
can you put it out and re-light it ??

I'm pretty new to the cigar smoking scene too, but I'll answer your questions to the best of my ability.

Where to start? find a local tobacconist and ask them for help. If you like your tea or coffee dark chances are you will prefer a stronger (generally darker) cigar. but your best bet is just to try one or two of each.
Keep a book to write down the cigars you like, and those you really don't. I would recommend you smoke one kind of cigar twice even if you don't like it (don't buy two of the same at the same time). Tobacconists will generally take a cigar back if it is really bad (don't smoke the whole thing).
How long? anywhere from 10-20 minutes for a small one (ascot) 20-40 minutes for a medium one and 60+ minutes for large ones. If you are having a nice conversation while enjoying a cigar it will take longer.
You never "put out" a cigar. You let it go out on it's own (grinding the cigar into something to put it out will ruin it). You can relight a cigar easily. just be sure to blow through the cigar to push out the ash and crap that gets pulled into the cigar as it goes out (it will taste worse if you don't).

Generally a cigar isn't inhaled into the lungs but pulled into the mouth where you taste it then let it out slowly. Cigars have way more tar in them then cigarettes and I like my lungs.

I hope this helps. I'm sure I've missed something so feel free to add to what I've said or tell me I'm wrong and add a correction. I'm away for the weekend so I won't get another chance to reply to this thread for a bit.
