I like the CQC-8 I got recently but it is more of a SD knife than an EDC. I used to have a BM/Emerson CQC-7 that I liked except for the tanto blade shape. I noticed that they may a version in a non-tanto blade shape but it doesn't have the Wave.

Does Emerson have a more compact EDC type knife with the Wave? Something like th CQC-7A.

Also, I am impressed that the CQC-8 is comfortable in any grip. Most knives are not.
 
maybe something like a mini commander, really all the EKI's are more SD oriented vs utility, they will work for utility though.

IIRC some of the SOCFK's had the spear point blade like on a '7 but with a wave and a specwar handle.
 
I agree, the mini com is a super knife. It´s been my EDC on a rotating basis now for some time (despite the hook). Some dealers might still have Ravens left. A HD 7A would be something to wish for...
