REALLY need help with my Buck vantage Pro

So I was thinking of putting new wood scales on my vantage today so I took it apart to make a template of the scales on there already.
Big Mistake.
After putting it back together and flipping it open and closed a few times I noticed a certain area when I'm closing it that it gets harder to close at. It feels like there's something in there that it's rubbing up against.

So I took it apart and put it back together again. And it was fine for about the first 20 times that I opened and closed it but then it started happening again and getting worse each time. Now it seems that If I put pressure on the blade to one side while closing it that I feels fine. I'm really confused and am not very good with knife repair so I have no Idea what to do.

Any help would be vastly appreciated.

Did you get both washers back in?I guess you've tried adjusting the tension screw.Look at it closely under light and you should be able to see whats going on.They are pretty open.

Yes I put both of the brass/copper looking washer back in but I did wipe them off because they looked dirty. could that have been oil/grease that should'nt have been removed?

I dont think so.Loosen it up and put some lube where it pivots.WD-40 or a drop of oil.

This is very odd. I've taken it apart and reasembled it again and it feels good. but I can feel it slowly getting that hard to close spot every time it's opened and closed. I've tried playing around with the blade and tension once it gets very hard to open but nothing. i may just send it over to Buck and hope they don't notice that I took it apart.

Pull the liner lock out of the way and see if it's still rough. I find the liner lock is usually responsible for most roughness.

One thing that can happen is if you don't have the screw tension exactly as you left it, the little ball on the liner lock won't line up with whatever little groove it has worked into the blade. If that's the case you can tighten/loosen the pivot screw until you find the 'sweet spot' or just wait and see if it wears in.

And make sure you have some oil in there.

Did you get the little pin properly back in the track on the liner?

If you lay the knife on it's spine while open and then try to close it, where is the hard part? Around 10 or 11 o'clock? Might be something simple like the blade hitting the detent ball

I think it's fixed. I just put a drop of light vegetable oil in there and it's smoother than when I got it

Sometimes things just have to work themselves in.A little veggie oil never hurts either!
