I bought these boys axe handles this spring and man are they nice. Very slim and near perfect grain. Ever heard of them

Yup, the two on the left are the same. The one I cut down was crap from the factory. The shoulder on one side was completely removed I'm guessing by a belt sander making a giant flat on one side. The other one is okay. The one I've used so far was extremely dry and easy to work but soaked up a lot of BLO. If I could buy local and could hand pick I would. These where listed as 24" handles on eBay and obviously I ended up with two 28" boys axe handles

I ordered 24 and got 28 also. They offered my money back but we're so nice I kept them and suggested they revise the listing.

Hacked, that is a nice job of lemons to lemonade. Not an excuse to not being shipped the handles you ordered as well as having a defect that the end user, regardless of level of expectation, has to alter to hang an axe.

"Some fitting required"

That looks like a great axe to me.

Crook-Miller Corp of Ohio no longer makes tool handles, according to their website. They do have a sawmill and it looks to me like they are currently cashing-in on the abundance of dying White Ash trees in their vicinity for making table legs and wood trim and mouldings.

Menard's sold that brand for a while but I haven't seen them there in more than a year.
