I picked it up today, and it would of just been a regular sized FHM BUT the blade was a deep hollow grind and was finished from what appears to be a scotch brite wheel. The sheath that it came with was a really nice one, but a weird part though somebody had stamped in the word balisong stamped going down the strap. (I really got to get a camera.)

But it just seems weird because of the scotch brite, and the hollow grind.

A scanner works fine, also, so you don't necessarily need to get, or find someone, with a digital camera. It might also be easier to explain wanting to purchase one to either your parents or spouse.

Gotta ask why do you think it was finished with a scothbrite wheel? My favourite bali is also an FHM and it has a somewhat deep hollow grind with a nice mirror finish.

Most of the good balisongs in batangas are already mirror finished and the standard blade style is a deep hollow grind.

You can get a Intel video web camera that plugs into your USB port for about $35 now a days, and that will take still photos. They even come with the needed software. For the money, it's a good deal, and the photos are acceptable, better than nothing at all. Here is a photo I tool with a Kodak video conferance camera that I still use for my auctions. www.balisongKnife.com Thanks, JohnR7

You can always buy one at best buy or most any retail store. Try it out and if it does not work out for you, take it back.

Yeah, it's fine if you don't mind pics of your butterflys looking like they're under water, or placed under a Scanning Electron Microscope.

Well, you could find a cheap digital camera, that does 640x480 and has USB support, for under $50. But yeah, PC comes first :-) How the heck are you posting here?

John,

is this one of the China made with the blade re-ground?

Yup, that's the one. The blade length looks to be just about 2 inches, which is cool for US Californians.

Well first, I gotta get a new computer. As for the Scotchbrite theory, it has the same finish (but better) than my BM42. Also, my other FHM doesn't have a scotch brite finish, but it has a different polish to it self.
