A little bored tonight so was looking over flea bay and found this

Could someone shed some light on this. According to the discription the bottom one is a custom but it seems to have Ka-bar clearly marked on the blade plus there are a few other discrepancies that don't seem to fit. I did a search and could not find any supporting info to back up his claim.

I am far from knowledgable on this topic but seems a little fishy to me. Please enlighten me.

Last i checked linking to a live auction is called deal-spotting and prohibited here on BF. I suggest you remove any links before a mod does it for you.
thanks for sharing though. Im no expert but that does seem odd to me.

Is there some other way to get an answer from guys on here, without linking. Didn't seem like any deal to me :barf:

From what I can find there were 1000 of the black micarta D2 Phat Bob's made and they are not customs. They were a limited production from Kabar. Search "D2 Phatbob" here on BF or on Google.

Great, thanks for the reply. I could not find that info on google but I did not search D2. I just thought the guy made some black micarta slabs and labelled it "custom" .
cheers

I've read the custom phat bobs are worth getting and are entirely different knives. Knowing that I wouldn't waste my money on a normal production one.

The D2 production version would perform better than the AUS-8, but would not be considered especially collectible.
