Really sick kids, this sucks!

A month straight now, no sleep. Started with the oldest, extreme stomach pain lasting for 6-8 hours, then it would go away just to come back every day. Xray, ultrasound, er visit, lab work, stool sample (that one was fun) all with no abnormal results. Docs say it's a bad stomach virus but that's just a guess. Lasted 17 days straight, then went away suddenly.

Just as the youngest child got it. His only lasted 6 days, but same exact symptoms. No nausea, no fever, no diarrhea, just extreme stomach pain.

Just when everyone was better, after 3 straight weeks of this, then the 3rd kid got it, going now on day 8. This is like having a newborn all over again. Taking shifts through the night to get just a few hours of sleep. I've taken more time off work for sick leave then ever before, and it beyond sucks looking at your kid and there is nothing you can do past giving them comfort and love to try to help them.

So I'm running thin on hope that every day will be that day they are all better, and running out of youtube videos on the grails I have on my list. Trying to build up a dvr cache to supliment with livepd. Past that any kind words you have will be appreciated, and will probably be viewed around 2AM tomorrow while it's my shift.

Hey sorry to hear about your kids, hopefully everyone is well soon. I feel your pain, I know how much of a suck I am when I’m sick, seeing my kids not doing well is the worst thing in the world. Do your best to comfort them, it might not seem like much but probably means the world to them. Sorry I’m not much help, really hope things are back to normal for your family ASAP.

Sorry this note missed your overnight shift with your child ... when the wee hours are longest and worries need distraction. Parents are the rock and you're being there counts beyond measure - know that and please accept my best for a swift passing of these upsets to your child and family.

Food allergy perhaps? I have many of these symptoms when I eat something that I shouldn't (meat allergy) or allow myself to become really dehydrated.... until things are righted only to repeat again.

The reason I ask is I know a family that recently went through similiar and it was all from a baby getting his vaccinations ... the Rotavirus vaccination is one that contains live virus ... the baby bever got sick but nearly all the aunts ... uncles ... parent and siblings did ... and similar symptoms.

Thanks to all that were kind and shared with me encouragement and hope. The kids have finally made it through this crazy illness. It was beyond a difficult month and now we will try to salvage the rest of a summer here.

No babies. The adults on this one never got sick which is really the weirdest part. No other symptoms just extreme horrific stomach pain.
