Interested in picking up a fixed blade in the near future. No more than 6 inches in sheath. Price point is about 50 clams. No preference in steel or sheath material.
I've heard nothing but good things about the CRKT Folt's Minimalist. Steel is a little soft according to some users, but easy to sharpen to a scary sharp edge, though you sacrifice a little retention. If not, you definitely can't go wrong with the Candiru? Both are the same overall length.
At about 7" Marbles has several stag handle knives with surgical stainless blades and very nice quality sheaths. These are built just like the big boys but are small and very good looking. The only drawback is that they are made in Pakistan. They are very nice looking and quality made . I bought a couple and can't believe the quality or the price. If you can get past the Pakistan part you won't be disappointed.
I been carrying a Condor "Windfang", 24-7, for about 8 months. Approx. 5-1/8'' overall, approx. 5-3/4'' from tip of sheath to tip of handle. Only downfall,i keep forgettin it's there. regards Henry
I have a Skyline fixed, love it. Also was looking at the Boker CLB Edit, Gnome. I'd like to pick up an Izulu at some point and one of Daniel Fairly's and Bryan Breeden's awesome pieces. Check their work out on the forum.
I've been really digging the Skyline fixed blade over folders though.
I have got a Custom small fixed blade 5 1/2" never been used $60 and have a real nice Custom Sheath made for it for $10

Small and cheap? CRKT Folts Minimalist. Less than 6" in sheath and they run about $15-20 on various sites. There are three different blade shapes, the Wharncliffe seemingly the most popular. I have the Tanto style and I love it. My wife carries it on her neck as an EDC.
