Really thought I wanted a Hobo... but got this...

Not the actual pic of what I just purchased, but it's the same one. Was out and drooling over the Case display... looking hard at the Hobo. BUT, I saw this Back Pocket in jigged molasses bone, and simply liked it more. Nice f&f, walk and talk is wonderful, with a half stop in it. A bit of swedge on the blade adds just that little touch to it. I really do like Case, even more when I can inspect prior to paying. Obviously not a luxury allowed much anymore.

I just received one recently and really like it. Fits in my backpocket next to my wallet quite well. I like having all that blade at my disposal. Nice choice.

Thanks, guys! I got a chance to get her home and check her out real good before having to head out again... She's really a nice specimen overall. Case has made me pretty darn happy with their overall quality, thus far :-)

It's strange how that happens sometimes. You head into the store set on buying a certain knife and a different one catches your eye. No offense to those who are fond of the Hobo, but I think you ended up with a much better knife.

Seems Tony Bose had his hand in this design for Case :-)

I really didn't think I liked how small the blade was when compared to the frame. I thought they looked funny, then I saw one in person and found out I was wrong.

Nice knife.

Thanks! :-) What I did not seem to like, was what seems like an oversized kick at the tang. I guess it was designed for a somewhat sleek blade, but housed in a wide frame, as to ride well in ones back pocket. But at first, before actually handling it, that kick seemed wrong to me. Now... I just like it being a little bit different :-)

You made a brilliant choice. This is a great design (Tony Bose, of course) and the F&F is quite nice. I bought two (a clip and a skinner) and both are a delight. It may seem odd at first sight (although incredibly elegant) with the broad handle and the skinny blade (it's not small : full grown 3" 1/2, like the Sr Sodbuster) but it's really strong and cuts through cardboard like butter (actually better than more powerful looking blades...). Perhaps due to the plunge of the blade/big kick. The width of the handle compensates its flatness : you get great power and control yet the knife is easy as ever in the pocket (and light !). It all makes perfect sense when you take it in your hand and use it. You'll have a great time !
