Realsteel Griffin

I guess these guys partnered up with Carson Lab Knives or something.

Searched for 'em. Found a reference to their Facebook page, which says they're based in Hangzhou, China.

No, thanks.

I don't know man, I've been hearing some really good stuff is starting to make its way out of China.

I hope so!

I've never doubted that there are some companies in China making their own designs out of quality steel.

But it's hard to untangle those companies from here in the States.

Time will tell.

China is beginning to make some good folders.
For right now, I have plenty of American builders to give my money to.

Looks like they borrowed a few designs from the Hogue EX-0. The button lock and pocket clip are very similar which is ok to me cuz its my favorite style button lock. I'd be willing to try one out if it was priced closer to the 200 mark but at 340 I'd rather another sebenza.

Yeah, I doubt they spent anywhere near 340 bucks to make it, but it's probably the same for most companies. I'd like to stack one up against a sebenza, but I don't have the 700 bucks to buy both and compare.

All these companies coming out of China have one problem or another with their knives imo. I've given them a chance too.

Also, doesn't it throw up red flags when all their models are "cheap designs" and then there is the $200-$400 "s-series"...
That's kind of like buying a filet mignon at McDonalds...

They really importing Nitrobe 77 and RWL 34 , giving it the correct heat treat ( RWL 77 ? ) then shipping it back out? Anybody had one independently tested? That would be part of the cost for me if I had to buy one. Not only would it have to be the real product but it would have to be in spec. Too many problems with Chinese products, nothing against this company in particular.
