Using 416 ss pin for a pivot what size straight reamer size would be recommended for the blade pivot hole?

It depends on the exact size of the pin stock. What are it's specs?

If the pins are exactly .1250, then a reamer of around .1255 to .1258 would be good.

You will see charts recomending anywhere from .00053" to .001" oversize for the reamer. I find somewhere around .0005 is the minimum that is still smooth and easily assembled. .001" is a bit sloppy.

Thanks,

My pin stock is precision ground 416 ss .1250"

I will find a .1255 reamer.

you probably already know that reamers are run at slower spindle speeds than the same size drill, half speed is a good place to start, or even less

Also, make your tools last ... get a carbide reamer. A HSS reamer is good for two or three holes and then it will be out of spec.
