Is .124" size reamer small enough for a press fit with .125" stop pin? Hope asked that right.

Yes it is. .1240 reamer for a .1250 pin will work well in most applications. Have you measured your pin accurately?

Well what I thought was .125 turned about to be closer to .124. I'm trying to figure out a stop pin for a frame lock. Not real excited about press fitting it. Maybe use a pivot like a sex bolt. You have any suggestions? Thanks for your response.

You can get reamers in tiny tiny increments, to press fit your pin, whatever the pin size.

.1230 is common as a "dowel pin reamer" size

For example lots of sizes

If you have a bench vise, you can use that to press it in.
There will be nothing as close fitting, durable, or as small as a simple straight pin.

I would use a bit of red loctite when you put it in - it will act as a bit of a lube on the way in, and help to hold it for the duration.

Personally, I don't do a press fit.

In my shop, knives go together, and come apart a few times before they are done, and it's important that I am able to do that.

Press fitting will booger things up.

I like a nice, snug, push fit.
