On a road trip with the family today and I pulled off I-81 exit 100 for gas and a leg stretch. I walked into a Pilot station and found this case, mostly filled with the typical cheap-n-flashy pot metal knafs… but looking around… eureka! Case knives in a gas station! This is a first for me.

I really like the looks of that first mini trapper. Wonder if the mark side is sun faded or both sides match. If so that one prolly would went home with me.

Surprising. The person in charge of ordering is to be commended. 👍

Judging by the prices, it must be a Sodbuster or Sodbuster Jr that was in the empty slot.

It's pretty bare right now but the entire display at the location where I work maintenance is all Case knives minus at the very bottom where they have a small selection of cheap junk.( which is the tech-X line of basically gas station specials by Case )

I've gotten about 4 from the display the past couple years, and I do pay a bit of attention to it.
The #54 trappers in yellow delrin sell out the most, next to that the little Camo Caliber lockback because it's the least expensive.
The copperlock doesn't sell very well.

Our local Ace Hardware carried Case xx and had a wooden display Case , our MacArthur's Hardware carried "Coast" , our Moore Mill Lumber Yard carried Schrade, and our K-Mart carried Sharp , Buck and Schrade's Old Timer's....those display cases are gone now along with the Stores - Home Depot and Wal-Mart put them out a business ~ "Sadly"

Big 5 does carry a couple to a few USA Spyderco Knives and Wal-Mart always has a Buck 110 on the Rack ~ that's about it around here ~

I remember drooling over knife displays in gas stations and hardware stores as a boy back in the 60's and 70's. It is refreshing to see that some still exist, especially with case knives. I have never seen that.

One of the first knives I owned came from a gas station, an old Anvil brand (by Colonial) stockman I bought back in the early 80’s. I remember it was $7, which was a lot of money for a young lad back then. I absolutely loved that knife and it disappeared, I always assumed it must have slipped out of my pocket somewhere. 😞 I wish I still had it

I remember back as a kid the colorful display cards full of Imperial, Colonial, or Hammer shell-handle pocketknives at gas stations and hardware stores. The hardware stores also had glass display cases of the better knives. OH
