Reassembling a stretch 2 xl

Just thought I’d put this out there….

If you disassemble a stretch 2 xl (or really any lock-back), reassemble the handle and lock bar with spring (put the pin and screw back on the lock bar) before putting the blade back in. Don’t tighten the screws all the way, depress the lock bar while putting the pivot pin back in through the pivot hole in the blade.

If you try to go the other way, pivot pin and blade first, it’s not going to go well for you.

That is all. Thanks!

I always do the lockbar last. I get the lockbar screw standing up on a tabletop slightly started into one side, push the lockbar into the handle with my thumb, and when the holes line up gently press down on the tabletop so the screw pops through into place.

Easiest way to assemble a lockbar Spydie.

You can’t do that with a stretch xl, there’s no liners.
But the principal is the same. You’re just doing it with the scales.
