Well, with no experience with either I'll still open my big mouth .
I have the Reate Valkyrie 1 which is the predecessor to the Valhalla. It's a big, beautiful knife but I hardly ever carry it. The very aggressive, up swept blade isn't the best appearance around "gentle folk". As such, I don't think the Valkyrie or the Valhalla are great EDC choices. If you're thinking EDC for this knife, consider that.
Likewise I don't have a Starboy but I have the Reate produced Prism which is a fairly similar Bharucha design. It's actually based on a full custom called the Church but shares some of the typlical Bharucha lines as the Starboy. For all of it's weird appearance, the Prism is a surprisingly good knife in hand and in pocket. I'd have to imagine the Starboy would be likewise.
Either way, they're both great knives and you can't go wrong with either one but I think the Starboy is a significantly better choice for EDC under most circumstances.
Paging austonh
, if he's not too busy with the move. Personally I just have the Valhalla, the Starboy never appealed to me, it looks like a clipped Future to me with a "missing swedge" on top. You can't really go wrong with either in terms of fit&finish and action though, it comes down to whether you want a large folder or a smaller one.
I also do not own either but I can tell you that Reate’s quality is extremely consistent. So I guess what it really comes down to is design, size and weight.
