Reate guys! Hills or Horizon?! My head hurts...

So I have been researching my last knife of the year, and decided that I need a Reate! The designs look amazing to me, and everybody seems to love them. I have also done some pretty extensive reading about the company and David here in the forums. It seems like he is a genuine knife nut that is living his dream and selling high quality knives at a price almost all of us can afford... I don't care where the knife was made, how can I not support that!

Anywho, I am stuck between whether to get the hills or horizon, so I am hoping that you guys/gals who have both of them could help me out. Essentially, which model is you favorite and would choose to carry with you everyday? I understand that the hills is a "better" edc option for most people, but is the horizon really that much larger in hand? Or does the size of the horizon keep you from carrying it? I am having a hard time because I prefer the way the horizon looks, but like the size of the hills better...

Right now the heaviest/largest knife I carry is the 0550, which I have no gripes about. So, do I go big or go home? Or do you think I will like the hills once it hits my hands?

Thanks in advance for any advice or help!

I personally chose the horizon over the hills. Both have comparable materials and many may enjoy the smaller size of the hills but the horizon to me it just a mean looking blade. It has a very nicely hollow ground blade and I love the milled pattern in the handle. To me the horizon just flows better. Thats not to say I wouldnt buy a hills as I probably will But I preferred the aesthetics of the Horizon and its size. My ONLY criticism on the knife is I would like them to try and make the tolerances between the hole in the blade and the size of the pivot more precise. There is a bit of wiggle to these parts when taken apart but when assembled it has not presented any issue of any kind in regard to vertical play so there may be no real reason to change it.

I like larger bladed folders, however the Horizon A that I have doesn't seem that big in the pocket, especially compared to the 0550. The 0550 is wider in the pocket because of its wide blade, the Reate Horizon's blade has a nice sweeping profile and a touch of elegance too. The Hills is also on my short list. I like clean looking folders with nice lines without visible opening studs, disks, holes and such, reminiscent of my slip joints I carried as a kid. Here are some comparison pictures of the two.

They are both great knives, I like the horizon better because I love the blade style, false edge, slight recurve. I really believe these are the best ti framelocks for the money. They flip just as good as any other popular flipper, they are very well made, and unbeatable for the price considering the materials.if the hills had a clip blade I would have gotten it. not a big fan of that style blade on it now,but still tempted to get it,knowing how nice it is.

Awesome Thanks guys! Seems like everyone is rolling with the horizon so I am going to join the club! Thanks @Final Option for the size comparison pics!
