I’m considering buying my first Reate and I‘m looking for some opinions of the different models from folks that own them. If you could, would you please list what models are your favorite or like a top three ranked? I’m just curious what people who have handled these knives like and why. So if you can, please tell me which are your favorite and maybe a few reasons why I’d be greatly appreciative, thank you.

Considering the brand, that is actually a very vague question. Like WE, Reate has quite a large catalogue.
You may get better responses if you included what models you were considering. or at least what types of knives you like.

The Kirby Lambert Crossroads is right now my favorite, ive had some horizon models, district 9 models and a few others, you really cant go wrong with anything they make...

^ Im more of an Augustus guy. So the top three i own are the Augustus, J.A.C.K 1.0, 2 Todd Begg Steelcraft (Kwaiken and Field Marshall) and Liong Mah Endeavour. Fit and finish is remarkable and somewhat suoerior to WE knife imo. But Reate are Chinese brand. Personally, i don’t mind.

But the Liong Mah Endeavour was slightly up to par as the grind was slightly off and it was off centered.

We are talking about luxury things instead of necessary things when it comes to knives. Because of that, the history and reputation of the brand plays a huge role. REATE does not have as long a history as other brands including Benchamde, Spyderco, ZT, Hinderer, and CRK. That significantly hurts the resale value of Reate. With that being said, the quality and fit and finish of Reate easily surpass that of Benchmade, ZT, and Spyderco. It is at least on par with RHK or could be better.

I just picked up my first Reate, a chaves ultramar 229 and the fit and finish are top notch. Action is amazing really. You won't be disappointed. I will admit I don't like knowing it came from China ...

Any of the horizon models, or the wave. Only ones I have but the quality is very good.

My absolute favorites are the Sharp by Design Voids and Evo Typhoons - Nadeau’s design coupled with Reate’s fit and finish yields an incredible flipping action.

A very close second are the Steelcraft series - the overall attention to detail present in their implementation of Begg’s designs is just plain ridiculous.

I have only one Reate branded knife... the only one I liked enough to buy - the K2.
(I was pretty close to buying the Crossroads, at one point; just never quite got there)
