Rebar for Bigger Hands

I just read here somewhere that the Leatherman Rebar is smaller than the Wave. I was surprised to read that. Is it true?

Can anyone with big hands tell me how the Rebar works for them?

I wear a size L glove and like the Rebar just fine. My Charge+ replaced it because tools-on-the-inside is more comfortable in pliers mode; the size wasn't a factor in that choice.

I have pretty large hands and after losing the wave I had for twenty some odd years, my girlfriend got me the Free P4. The first thing that struck me was how comfortable it was and felt like a bigger tool. I think it’s because you can do everything one handed, while retaining complete functionality, and that leaves your other hand free to scratch your nuts (in my case at least), making it seem like more tool than it is. I’m not sure I explained it well but hope that you find that useful, even thought it’s derivative, which can be annoying in a forum.

Charge is about the same size as the Wave, right?
Wave/Charge/Signal are a "medium" at 4 inch closed.
Rebar, Super Tool 300, and I think the MUT, are a "large" at 4.5 inch closed.
I know the Wingman I had years ago was a "small" at 3.5 inches closed.
Tools on the Wingman didn't do it for me on the truck, so I gifted it to my then boss/truck/fleet owner.

If you have big hands and find a knife under 4 inches comfortable (most folks do) no reason a Wave/Charge/Signal should feel "small".

Okay that's what I thought but then someone in another post said the Wave is bigger than the Rebar.

I'm not actually in the market, I just like clearing things up that I don't understand. I don't care much for Leathermans, although I understand why people do.

Rebar is 4" closed. Super tool 300 is the same tool set but 4.5" closed. If you are afraid the rebar will be too small, the super tool 300 may be what you are looking for. I love the st300. I had one for years and lost it, I'm ordering another soon. Edit: sorry just saw you said you weren't actually wanting to order one...but still good info

I have a Rebar and a Surge, I think the confusion can come from how they are described since "girth" is a significant factor. The Surge is certainly bulkier than the Rebar, as it should be. The Wave is also bulkier than the rebar, but they are closer in size. I have small hands and find the rebar fits well, but I think you'd need real meat-hook paws to find the rebar too small, though if you don't do well with nail-nicks, that would be a factor

Can the nail nicks be used with thin gloves on?

That's what she said.
Some of us work with what we have, and some just make do. As for the gloves, I can get most of the tools on the Rebar with normal Mechanix gloves, but only just, and for the center tools, it requires opening the larger tool on the side, and taking a couple of attempts. The nail nicks are bigger than they were on the older tools, but still, its a nick not a hole or stud.
