Rebar Hawk

Made this for a customer who is a rebar distributor. Made from 1" rebar, handle is Osage.

That's very cool.
With the rebar steel, would the hawk be serviceable as a user piece? Did you find it easy to forge?
 
Thanks for the kind remarks. The rebar is "60 grade". I'm told that it has a much higher carbon content. It was a bit of a challenge, it kept rolling at the start because of the texture of the bar. I lined up the pattern of the texture on top and bottom. Other than that it worked the same as anything I have forged before. As far as using and keeping a good cutting face on it, its hard to say. It is mainly a conversation piece.
 
If it is the same as here it has a carbon content of about 0.25% which is really not enough for good hardening, can be cold worked though.
